The Activity series represents an intentional departure from traditional artistic methods, embodying a year-long exploration of creative experimentation. Rather than discarding excess pigments from my studio, I chose to repurpose every scrap, transforming them into vibrant, dynamic works of art. This approach celebrates the beauty of impermanence and the value of reuse, turning what might have been waste into meaningful expressions of creativity.
The process of creating these pieces was as organic as the works themselves. By applying leftover pigments directly onto the canvas, I allowed the colours to evolve naturally, forming rich textures and hues. Each stroke became part of a larger narrative, resulting in a tapestry that reflects the unpredictability and energy of the creative process.

The series features 14×12-inch mixed-media compositions, blending scraped acrylic and plastic on canvas. The interplay of colours and textures creates a vibrant symphony that draws viewers into a realm of dynamic energy and visual drama. These artworks invite an immersive experience, challenging perceptions and encouraging a deeper appreciation of form, colour, and texture.
With The Activity, I sought to redefine traditional notions of art-making by emphasizing sustainability and experimentation. This series not only highlights the potential of reused materials but also underscores the unpredictable beauty that can emerge from embracing creative risks.

Ultimately, The Activity is more than a collection of artworks—it is a celebration of transformation, a statement on the value of reuse, and a testament to the boundless possibilities of artistic exploration.
