Mixed media art is a unique form of expression that allows me to create captivating pieces by incorporating various materials into my work. The painting titled “Expression Of Her 3” is a beautiful example of this form of art, where yarns, newspapers, and acrylic on canvas were used to create a stunning piece that celebrates the beauty of women.
The painting measures 54 by 54 inches and features warm and fresh colours that are influenced by the African sun. The dramatic textures, rawness, freedom, intriguing designs, and patterns are the hallmarks of this art form, making it impossible to be bored looking at it.
Through the use of various materials, I sculpted out the image of a woman that I see in the textured surface, using pigments to bring the image to life. The result is a captivating piece that captures the essence of femininity.
The concept behind the painting is a sensation of someone pretty. The way she smiles, the shape of her nose, her interesting lips, her looks are all like an art piece. I draw inspiration from the first time I see a lady from a distance. I notice a particular feature in her that calls my attention, whether it be her smile, her lips, her earrings, the way she walks, or her complexion. It is an expression of her that creates a pretty impression in my mind.
