As an artist, I draw inspiration from the world around me. From the diverse cultures and traditions that shape our society, to the sights and sounds of my travels, I find beauty and meaning in the everyday.
The Titled Man 1, is a testament to the power of cultural symbolism. Depicting a chief from the Igbo tribe of eastern Nigeria, the painting showcases the iconic red cap that adorns their heads. With its warm, inviting hue, the cap is a powerful symbol of tradition and authority.
Created using acrylic on canvas, the painting measures 60 by 24 inches. It’s a striking piece that captures the essence of the Igbo culture and the importance of tradition in our lives.
For me, art is a form of documentation – a way to preserve and share the beauty of our world. With each stroke of the brush, I seek to capture the vibrancy and diversity of our society. And with The Titled Man 1, I hope to inspire others to celebrate and honour the cultural traditions that make us who we are.
